Answering the new challenges Electrical Power is facing:
One of the world's biggest challenge is how to address climate change, and in particular, how to do so while ensuring energy remains affordable for consumers and business.
In Developing Countries the issue is even more pressing, as granting the access to electricity to large percentage of the the population is a top priority.
The need for fast-track deployment of the connection to electricity, for the integration of multiple sources of power generation facilities including renewable energy solutions, conventional generators, energy storage, while there may not be an available central Power Plant or where the National Electricity Grid may not yet be able to deliver the electricity to all potential consumers, the need for affordability and for sustainability of the overall energy solution, are all reasons for the development of the Decentralised Energy concept.
Decentralised Energy solution means the combination of any various technical solutions in order to produce locally the required energy (electricity, steam, hot water, chilled water, etc) which will be consumed locally, irrespective of the connection or not of the system to the National Grid, if any.
Decentralised Energy means:
The deployment of local, highly fuel-efficient (or even zero-fossil-fuel whenever possible) power generation/distribution solutions tp serve local consumers, connected or not to the National Grid, clustered or not into Micro-Grids, with Smart-Meters and Smart-Grid communication and management systems ensuring the proper control and management, and with the best technical, financial and environmental performance, all of this is part of the scope of the Decentralised Energy Solutions offered by UNITED ENERGY VENTURES.
From "Centralised" to "Decentralised and Modular" Energy Solutions:
shifting from centralised grid-centric to decentralised, modular, customer-centric solutions
Carbon reduction, Local focus:
Decentralised Energy refers to energy technologies and practices that optimize the use of local resources and reduce the need for large scale energy supply infrastructure. This local generation reduces transmission losses and lowers carbon emissions.
Furthermore Decentralised Energy is designed to provide the optimal integration of the fossil-fuel-free Renewable Energy sources into the MicroGrid solutions, and benefits from the recent enormous cost reduction of these Renewable Energy technologies. Decentralised Energy provides the best opportunity to reduce the unsustainable fossil fuel consumption from large power plants.
Decentralised Energy includes as well such Energy Efficiency solutions as Co-Generation and Tri-Generation, which boosts the fuel efficiency from the low 30% of the central power plants solutions to as high as 90% efficiency.
Decentralised Energy is the cost-effective route to achieving carbon emission targets. And the diversification of the energy sources directly increases the overall reliability of the energy supply.
This approach to low carbon energy provision is the opportunity to promote a locally provided, sustainable, competitive and smarter energy choice.
Cost Reduction, Flexibility, Social Benefits:
Compared to the large scale energy supply centralised solutions, Decentralised Energy implementation means a lower cost of infrastructure, as the facilities are much smaller and there is not the need for long-distance high-voltage transport infrastructure.
This means lower project costs to finance the Decentralised Energy approach, and the modular design seamlessly accomodates stepwise deployment of the components of the systems.
Therefore the Decentralised Energy solutions offer the full flexibility to adapt the deployment according to the development of the needs and to cope with changing local environment.
These parameters: lower investment costs, modular design, flexibility of implementation, adaptability to the local changes and needs, are adding the speed of deployment to the advantages of Decentralised Energy compared to conventional centralised solutions.
Energy insecurity and lack of access to energy carries a massive social and economic cost. Decentralised Energyis a rapidly-deployable, affordable and efficient way to meet the demand whilst improving energy security and sustainability at the same time.
